Luís Manuel Calado de Oliveira Martins
Full Professor
Luis Calado is Full Professor of Structural Mechanics and Structures of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georesources (DECivil) at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). He has more than thirty years experience of research, teaching, specialized advisory work, design and standard committee activity in the area of steel and composite structures. A particular interest has been the cyclic behaviour of beam-to-column connections. He has been responsible or partner in several international, bilateral and national funded research projects which combine experimental and numerical work. Current research interests include dissipative devices for seismic protection of structures and monitoring techniques of structures.
